Copyrighting an Access solution?

Does anybody know what to submit to the copyright office to register a
copyright for an Access database I've created. It seems like the folks at
the copyright office don't have a clue what I'm talking about when I say
"Microsoft Access"...

I have seen Access database solutions that have had the "Copyright (C) 2004
by Joe Blow" on the startup screen, etc., but I don't know if they are
actually registered, and I don't want to pay to have them do a copyright
search to find out.

Simply put, I have an Access database solution that I've developed, which
contains some VB code and some graphics, specifically for an organization.
The copyright office says I can submit the "lines of code" for my "software",
but I don't think I can do that, since Access itself is copyrighted, and I
don't know how I'd get to "the lines of code" other than the VB I put
togehter. Secondly, the copyright office says that whatever I submit must be
a whole working application, not parts. Well, it won't work without Access,
and again, I can't send them my copy, so what should I do?

Does anybody have any experience with submitting an Access database
solution
for a copyright?

Thanks,
SamD

Go to my website and download the Database Documentor:

http://www.datastrat.com/Code/DocDatabase.txt

Run the code and build the text files. That will document everything in your
database except the table structure. Use the following to document the
tables:

http://www.datastrat.com/Download/FieldDescription2K.zip

Submit all the data as text files and a floppy or CD of the program for the
copyright.
