Hi - I find that about half the time the Grammar Check tries to correct me it
is suggesting an incorrect way to state things. Oddly, it will give me the
correct reason for the change but will apply the rule incorrectly. For
example, recently I typed "the meeting requests are sent from another
calendar" and was told to change "are" to "is" so the verb form would agree.
Uh, huh! Ok, that's maybe a tricky one but there are times when the Grammar
Check is just plain WRONG!! The real reason this bothers me is that students
today have enough trouble getting an adequate education. Add that many of
these students are learning English as a second language and we have a
situation where MicrosSoft really needs to straighten out the Grammar Check
function. Word is getting to be one of the few writing experiences these
kids have. Let's not confuse or misinform them any longer.
I would be glad to help review and update the Word Grammar Check functions
for any version of Word you like. Please contact me for assistance.
Thank you,
WordSmith
