Corrupt file for Word V.X

I am running Office V.X. The latest version of a word file I have
been working on for several months no longer works. All the previous
saved versions work fine, so something I did on my latest draft has
corrupted the file. I have tried to open it on three different
machines, and I get the same results: Either Word just quits, or after
a few minutes I get the message that the file is too large for MS
Word, and it quits. Or, I get the spinning beach ball. I need to
de-corrupt the file somehow, but Word won't let me work on it long
enough to do much. I am supposed to go to print this week, so any help
would be extremely helpful. From what I have seen of the file, it
looks pretty messed up (i.e., tables mostly).
