I'm having problems opening files previously saved in Word 2000 in Word 2003.
When I try to open them, it says file corrupt.

Did you transfer the files from an old to new computer: if so how? Or did
you simply run an Office Upgrade? What OS are you running. Are both OS and
Office patched up to date? Are you suing Norton Anti Virus?

Did not transfer the files, they are on a shared server. Our computers were
upgraded to Office 2003 and running 2000. Don't know if are patches are up
to date, that's handled by our IT dept.

My best guess is that the files are old Word 97 files that aren't too happy
being opened in 2003.

Make sure that Windows and Office have both been patched right up to date.
