Hi All,
FIrst of all apologies if this is in the wrong place as it's a Project
2010 Pro issue not server. Please redirect me if so.
I have a project structure that is as follows: a Master project file
that contains listings of different categories and queues that we use.
Within these queues exist subproject files for individual clients.
Projects within these clients are are again subproject files.
Basically I believe that this allows me to do more accurate reporting
and control visibility to resources better. I have around 25 client
files with up to 20 project files within each. I have a universal
resource pool that is shared to all project and subproject files.
Basically I have been getting severe file corruption every day. Upon
opening the master I get tasks that are "assigned at summary level"
and thus cannot be edited and upon saving it informs me that my
resource pool "is a read-only file. Do you want to save a copy" and no
matter what I click here Project procceeds to crash withough
performing any save.
I got around this for a while by creating a new resource pool and
giving it the same name as the old one but for the last couple of days
this has not been working either. I went through each individual file
yesterday and found that there were several subproject files within
clients that had become corrupt. Obviously I cannot repeat this every
time I want to open the master project.
Is there any way I can redue the chance of corruption but keep my
desired project structure?
Cheers
Dan
