I have Outlook 2003 (Office XP Standard edition); Recently I have been unable
to receive emails consistantly. The error message is: Task 'main account -
Sending and Receiving' reported eroor (0x8004210A): 'The operation timed out
waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service
provider (ISP)."
I contacted my ISP. The first person told me I should stop my Norton
Antivirus from scanning incoming email. I did this and it didn't help. The
second told me my Outlook was corrupt.
I am willing to reinstall my Outlook, but am concerned I will loose all the
emails I have saved. Does anyone know how to save the emails I have and also
be able to retrieve these emails when I need them for documention in the
future. I also have emails saved in the archives portion of Outlook.
I own a small business and have to access these emails quite frequently. I
actually have thousands of emails on my stystem and am very concerned I will
loose them.
I have a Maxtor external hard drive I could save the emails on also.
