Corrupt PST file?

S

Susan Kramer

Due to laptop issues, yesterday morning I had to use my desktop to look at my
email. I only opened it to see what new messages were in my inbox. I did
not send, reply to anything. After my laptop came back to life, I copied
only my inbox from my desktop (Outlook03) to my laptop (Outlook07). After I
did that I started getting the error message: The path specified for the file
F:\laptopbackup.pst is not valid on my laptop.

My Outlook on my laptop is working fine, I have not lost anything, but just
get this message when opening it each morning.

I found instructions on MS site for SCANPST, but they don't give me much to
go on as to how to find the file on my computer. When I open up the box to
browse, I can't get to My Computer. I only goes back as far as my Desktop.

I also have 64bit laptop, so not sure if this will even work for me. Any
help that anyone can provide would be most appreciated!

Thanks!
Susan

Can you not use the file/folder search function to look for scanpst.exe ?

Check your Folders Tree View, within Outlook, and remove the 'inbox data
file' you added (laptopbackup Personal Folders)
Its nothing to do with a corrupt data file, simply the method you used to
connect the exported pst
