Check Event Viewer for error messages.
You can easily find the path to your data file by examining its properties.

I have been using Outlook 2003 for a number of years. I tried to
import
an
Excel file contacting contacts. After importing, I can’t open my
contacts
folder. Outlooks locks up. I can still access email & calendar. Any
ideas
on how to fix this problem?
