corrupted db.. ideas on extracting the tables?

Hi.. I could use some advice.
I compacted & repaired a database to see if it would
address an issue I was experiencing. (stupid..move
follows) I didn't back it up before running the compact &
repair. The Code viewer was opened and that caused (I
believe) the database to be unopenable.
In the past, I know, I've used methods to extract
corrupted data tables from bad database and dropped them
into new ones.. I just cannot remember..or think how to do
this.
I will try the import function.. (I cannot get at my db at
the moment to test this)..but is there another way to pull
a table from a corrupted database..
