Corrupted Excel objects in Word 2003 documents

Alek Davis

I need to use an Excel Worksheet object in Office 2003 documents and they
seem to work fine until the document is saved (normally via AutoSave
feature), at which point I cannot edit it. Once AutoSave kicks in, I get a
couple of Excel errors, and the object does not open in Excel at all. One of
the errors state: "The object is corrupt and no longer available." I tried to
insert object from file and create it in Word directly, but nothing seems to
help. I can duplicate the problem in existing and brand new Word files. The
only support articles I found indicated that this may be an issue with Norton
Antivirus, but I use McAfee. Any ideas? I'm using XP SP2, Office Professional
2003 (with some 2007 comonents, such as Communicator 2007). Thanks.
