Corrupted file

When I try and open a Word document by double clicking the document
file when the app Word 2004 for mac is already running I get a
corrupted file message. If the app Word is closed and I double click
the document file Word starts up and everything appears to work fine.
Using OS 10.4.2. No other app exhibits this behavior. Is anyone else
seeing this behavior and if so what have you done to correct it.

Hi Tom,

I haven't heard of this behavior before but supposing the document really is
corrupt, try "uncorrupting" it. You'll find the procedures here:
<http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/DocumentCorruption.htm>
(If using Safari, hit Refresh once or twice; better yet, use another
browser.)

If these fixes make no difference, post back.
