corrupted file(??)

I have a Access database - about 5.5 mb. This is a "split"
database. When first opened, it returns a mesage, "Record
is deleted". After clicking "OK", the App opens.

The opening form has a subform based on a table which
shows "---deleted---" or "###########" in all fields of
some of the records (only 2 of 1280 records show this).

I deleted these, but I still get the same opening error,
PLUS the subform does not show in the main form. Can I
repair this or should I build it all over again?

I'd make a copy of the back-end (data) database first and then run a
Compact/Repair on the back-end database.
