I have discovered that an email address, when inserted within a Publisher
document via the program's insert-hyperlink feature, will corrupt once the
newly created P-Doc is converted to a PDF file and then sent as an attachment
via email.
Should the recipient of such an attachment open and attempt to use the
hyperlinked address, the resulting email will be returned to the sender by
their server marked 'undeliverable as addressed'. The reason: when the
recipient 'clicks on' the hyperlink within the attached PDF file, the
resulting outbound address window that 'pops up' has the added prefix
'mailto' on the front end of the 'Send To' line.
It is important to note that the Preview feature of Publisher, when
reviewing the ORIGINAL document after having been converted to a PDF file,
DOES NOT REVEAL this flaw - the email address appears to work fine. The flaw
appears only after the original P-Doc is converted to a PDF file, attached to
an outgoing email, opened by a recipient, and a hyperlinked email is
attemtped.
I have had Microsoft walk me through an online solution to the problem
several times, however, they never go any further while reviewing the issue
then the 'Preview' of the original document as described above, i.e.,
converted file sent as an attachment. Frustrating.
