Corrupted normal in Microsoft Word?

I can't open attachments in Word. I get a message that says it can't find the
path to documents and settings. I don't know what any of this means. I am
technilogically challenged.
I would appreciate some help.

It sounds like something that Help - Detect and Repair should be able to
fix.
