corrupted pst

Hi all.

Today when I attempted to open Otlook it displayed a message statin
that my outlook.pst cold no be opened so I was requested to recover i
through the scanpst utility.

I tried but the procedure was terminated abruptly displaying a fata
erro type of thing.

Is there anything I could do to recover my data apart from cutting m
veins open ?

I have a backup of the corrupted pst file but it is about three month
old.


Any help will be terribly appreciated

Opening your veins won't help. Try alternating runs of CHKDSK and SCANPST a
few times. If that doesn't help, then you can purchase commercial PST
repair tools which may be able to fix it.

I suspect you have hit the 2gb limit on pst's. Microsoft provide a tool
to crop the end of the file. possibly down to 1.7gb. Then run the inbox
repair tool. This should then work.
