Corrupted table error in document with multiple tables

Word 2002/Windows XP

When I open a document, I receive an error message that
one of the tables has become corrupted. It goes on to
recommend converting the table to text to correct the
error. However, with a document that is 143 pages and
80% tables, how do I find the corrupted table?

Hi Michelle,

I'd work with a copy of the document. Then convert each
table to text, one by one, save and close, until you hit on
the one that's a problem.

Another possibility would be to copy, say, half the
document to a new document, save, close and open. If it
gives you the message, you know the table is in the first
half and can start narrowing it down further.

Note, too, that there could be more than one "bad" table
structure in that document!

If the tables aren't extremely complex you could also try
saving as a "web page", then re-opening and saving again as
a Word document. With any luck, the round-trip HTML
conversion will strip out the "nasty".

There is just no "simple" way to determine in which one the
problem is.
