corrupted w/yellow?

When I make a new email the "Style and formatting" has become corrupted with
yellow fonts. I've tried 3x to change them but have not been successful.
Should I reload?

I did read that having "auto update" is not a good idea, so will change that.

Also others in my company have the same problem.

This is driving me crazy.
