corruption in calendar

i have outlook 2003 client running on exchange 2000

problem: in calendar, trying to delete recurring meetings
and normal items, an error comes up "there is not enough
memory to perform the operation". the computer has plenty
of memory, and the error follows the user if she logs on
elsewhere.
we have already tried exporting her mailbox to a .pst
file, creating a new mailbox and importing the items, in
hope of getting rid of the corruption.

i have checked on microsoft office update, for any patches
relevant but there are none.

any help would be greatly appreciated

many thanks
nick
