Corruption while opening PDFMaker.dot. message

Suddenly, I have become unable to open ANY word document. I'm receiving
the message; 'corruption while opening PDFMaker.dot', then it goes on
to ask if I want to attempt recovery, which does not work and brings
word back to the cycle of opening and crashing. Any suggestions?

The PDF toolbar is completely useless in Word (And PPT and Excel). All
the functions you might ever need are in the Print dialog (throug the
virtual printer).

I would suggest deleting the acrobat toolbar.
Go in the Microsoft Office 2004 folder, then Office>Startup>Word
Delete PDFMaker.dot
create a new fodler named PDFMaker.dot (withthe extension) and relaunch
Word.
The folder should prevent Acrobat from attempting to re-create the
toolbar.
