Cost per fiscal year

I have a column for cost per task, and want to sum up the costs of the tasks
per fiscal year. I have my project set up to run oct 1 - sept 30 for the
fiscal year already I just need to figure ot how to sum up the parts that
fall into each FY period.

Hi gpappy,

Because you are looking for timescaled data ($ broken down by fiscal year),
I think you are going to have to use one of the timescaled views, either
Task Usage or Resource Usage view.

Take a look at the Task Usage view. I would add Cost and Cumulative Cost
(Format > Detail Styles) to the timescaled portion of the view (right side).
Then if you zoom out of the view to show quarters, you can do some quick
math to break the data into FY.

You can also export the data to Excel using the "Analyze the timescaled
data" button in the Analysis toolbar.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,
No need to do any manual addition. If the Calendar is set for fiscal
year and the timescale in either usage view is set for fiscal year, all
you need to do is to show the data by years and it will be in terms of
fiscal years.

Hi John,

You are, of course, correct. :)

I was too focused on the cumulative cost information. Now, could you kindly
help me remove my foot from my mouth?

Thanks,
Julie

Julie,
Nothing wrong with your response, what you suggested will work fine
also, so there isn't any foot in the mouth.

John
