Cost Rate in OLAP report

Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I've set up an OLAP where I can see the number of hours worked my a
resource on a project and I can get the actual cost total based on the
standard rate they've been allocated. However, I'm having trouble
getting the "standard rate" itself to show up in the report.

Can this be done or am I just missing something here?

Thanks for your help

Hi rosa,

The Portfolio Analyser does not show the "standard rate" for resources out
of the box. you will eihter customise your OLAP cube or use a third party
product which will allow you to display the rate. Try this link for the third
party product:

Its called Portfolio Analyser Extender.

Alternetafly you can create a calculated member in Portfolio Analyser which
calcualtes the rate based on the total cost of project per team member.

I hope this helps

Hi Marc,

Our company recently downloaded the trial version of the Portfolio
Analyzer Extender and I've attempted to add the Standard Rate as an
available field in the Pivot Table by going to Admin-->Portfolio
Analyzer Extender setup and then I've searched for the Standard Rate
field, but have been unsuccessful in locating it. MS Project defines
Standard Rate as both a Resource field and a Currency Rate field,
neither of which are "Custom" fields. Does this mean the PAE product
will not help in being able to add this field to the OLAP cube Pivot
Table??

Is there a way to dump the Standard Rate details into a Custom
Enterprise Number field in MS Project and then use the PAE tool to add
this custom field to the OLAP cube Pivot Table?

Any advice you would be able to provide would be appreciated.

Hi Katie,
The custom field is the way to go.
try the following, use a resource custom field and map it to the cost rate.
Then use Portfolio extender to move the custom field into the cube build. I
hope that does the job.
Let me know if this worked
