Could deleting fonts affect boldfacing of unread e-mail messages?

Last night, fed up with all the fonts I never use and never will (Asian
fonts), I deleted them--and emptied my trash. They're gone.

This morning, when I opened my e-mail (Speakeasy Webmail, with Safari
as my browser, on Mac OS X)
I discovered that none of my unread messages appears in boldface
anymore. I want them to appear in boldface. Did my kamikaze-style
deletions somehow affect this function?

And more important, how can I get those fonts back? (I emptied the
trash in such a way that they're not retrievable.) Thank you!

You restore them from your weekly backup disks of course.

It's net gods punishing you for using webmail with formatted text.

Why do problems run in batches here? You go for months without font
pruning disasters, then three come along at once.

OK, you might be able to get a few back from your OS X install disks,
and your Microsoft Office installation disk. You might need one of
those geeky package item extractors like Pacifist to wrest them from
their hiding places there.

It is always good practice to make a backup of things you might be
wrecking before snapping into sorcerer's' apprentice mode.
I find that the 'make archive' context menu item is good for that.

Yeah. We've all done it.

Those fonts came from someplace in the first place, go back there and get
them...

For example, re-install the fonts that came with OS X, and those that came
with Microsoft Office.

If you just do that much, you should have coverage for virtually every known
character: I wouldn't put the Asian fonts back until you discover a need for
them.
