Could Not Find Distribution List <name>

I

Indianagreg

I have 4 separate DLs, all in my personal contacts folder, and I want to have
a 5th DL, titled "All", that sends to the other 4. Setting it up is no
problem, but when I send to the "All" DL, I get an error: "Could not find
Distribution List X" Where X is the first DL on my aforementioned group of 4.

Any suggestions?

Outlook 2007, Win XP, Exchange 2003.

So setting up "All" was no problem. Good. Tell us how you did it. Tell us
how you are trying to select it as a recipient.

From my "All" DL, I choose the "select members" button, change my address
book from GAL to Contacts, and choose my existing DLs just like they were
individuals.

Creating a new email follows the same process - select the To button, change
the address book from GAL to Contacts, choose the All DL, and hit ok. When
it appears in the "To" line of the e-mail, I can click the "+" and it
breakouts out into the 4 DLs - though all are now appended with <Unknown> at
the end of their name (ex: Group1<Unknown>)

Problem solved.

I wanted all my DLs to appear at the beginning of my contact list, so I
started their names with the underscore "_". That was the problem. I
replaced the underscore with the number 0 and everything works just fine now.

It's always the information you leave out that's important. If only we were
mind readers.
