Could not lock file error message

Ok, I want to first start out by saying that I did read through the previous
posts and checked to make sure that the file folder that the database resides
in is a shared file and that the database is also shared. Everyone has the
same exact access to the same database.

So with that being said I have one particular user that continues to get
this message when she is attempting to open the file. Other people are in
the file and are working fine. What else can I be checking to get this
problem solved?

Have this user step away from their PC for a few minutes, while you perform a
simple test using NotePad. Verify that you can save a new text file to the
shared folder, that you can close it and then come back in and edit it, and
finally, that you can delete it using Windows Explorer. You should be able to
complete this test within 1~2 minutes. Run the test from this PC, logged in
as the user that is having the problems. If you can successfully perform
these tests, then you will have independently verified the RWCD privileges
that you indicated you now have. It never hurts to independently verify.

Second test (likely after hours, when others have gone home):
With everyone out of the application, including you, you should not see a
left-over locking database file. These are typically 1 KB in size, and have
the .ldb file extension. However, you may need to configure Windows Explorer
to display file extensions to see this. If you do see this small file, try
deleting it. It should normally be deleted when the last user exits the
database.
