Could not open a word file

When I open a word file. It display that "This document may be corrupt. To
preserve the contents: Choose Select All from the Edit menu, then choose Copy
from the Edit menu. Create a new document, then choose Paste from the Edit
menu." And then, I followed that instruction to do that, but I pasted to new
document, the word program closed automatically and it displayed winword.exe
occurred error.

I also referred to a document and tried to solve that problem. But it was
getting worse. When I tried to open that file, the word program closed
automatically and it displayed winword.exe occurred error as well.

Is this just confined to one document or can you not open any document?

If you have Word 2003, Use File Open, Open and Repair to see if you can
rescue the file. Otherwise, see
