Could not open the communication device

I've got Student and Teachers version of Office 2004.
Safari and IE work fine on my bt voyager 100 adsl modem BUT Entourage
only gives the Internet Connect message "could not open the
communication device".
I've tried the solution offered by "kumar" on 18/8/2004 and it doesn't seem
to work.
(perhaps that is because I don't understand the 4th point in his "steps" to a
solution- what will ok look like?)
Help please.

I've got the same problem with same editions - have you managed to
find any solutions?
