I have, in past versions of Word, used the COUNT(ABOVE) function to enable an automated "count.". I like using the COUNT(ABOVE) feature better than the normal auto-count feature for a number of reasons (that I won't go into here). Regardless, the COUNT(ABOVE) feature appears to have broken in Word 2003
Typically, I use "COUNT(ABOVE)" like this
1. The first cell has a hard-coded constant (usually a 1
2. The cell directly below it then uses the COUNT(ABOVE) function
For example
Word 2000 Word 200
Column 1 Resulting Value Resulting Valu
Row 1: 1. 1. 1
Row 2: COUNT(ABOVE) 2. 1
Row 3: COUNT(ABOVE) 3. 2
Ending Row: COUNT(ABOVE) n. n-1
The problem is, that in Word 2003, the second cell below the constant one, resolves to "1." instead of the desired value, "2." Does anyone know of a workaround for this problem
Thanks
