I want to count all the cells in a column that are filled in red. How do I
type the formula?

Thanks a lot in advanced!

How did they get to be red?

If by conditional formatting, count the values that turned them red.

If manually colored here is a non-programmatic method.

CTRL + a to select all cells.

Edit>Find>Format>Format>Pattern...........click on red and "Find All"

In the "found" dialog box hit CTRL + a to select all in that box.

Now right-click in status bar and select "count" from the options.
