countif problem

i have problems using the countif formula.

i am trying to count the "fair" responses of a column. (a feedback
form)

but why is it that this formula counts 3 fair reponses, instead 4?
this only occur in the first cell of the table. Whenever i use this
formula for the first cell, it will count short of 1 response.

can anyone provide solutions for this problem. i really need it
urgently.

What formula do you have? Are you sure it covers the range of your
data?

Does one of your entries have a space at the end? Use LEN(cell) to
find out how many characters are in the cell.

I solved her problem over e-mail.
Issue was with text in cell. I used edit-clear-all and enter data again and
formula worked just fine.
I belive that your idea was good - if she had some data from other
applications it's possible that some nonprinting characters came along and
caused problems.
