COUNTING COLUMNS AFTER DATA FILTER

(Excel 2000)

Somone answered this a while back, but I lost it due to cpu crash.

If I have a sheet that uses the "Data>Auto Filter" feature, how do I count,
sum etc... on the various columns?

I know it is something pretty simple, but can't seem to remember it.

TIA,

You can use the Subtotal function. The first argument specifies which
function should be used, e.g. in =SUBTOTAL(9,A1:A100), the range will be
summed.
