counting phrases, or patterns, in a document

Hi,

I have been asked by a professor in Faculty of Religious Studies in my
university if I can help in accomplishing a particular task on a word
document. They have this book in a language other than English and would
like to know the occurrence of a particular phrase (or of a particular
pattern) and also the number of pages on which it occurs. I am a LaTeX
person, and use Word only for simple tasks and don't know much regarding
macros etc in Word. I am guessing a macro could accomplish the above
task? Suggestions, hints, pointers?

Hi HS,

Do you still require this macro? I have someone that is learning
macros and is wanting something to practice on. I can get her to do
this as a learning experience and send through the code if you still
require it.
