Cover page - how to edit text

When I insert a gallery cover page, it does not appear in my editable
document so I can't insert text, only view in print preview. How can I
include it in the editable version?

Assuming it is not a graphic (of a type that Word cannot edit), try
displaying the header and footer area, for example by double-clicking the
header. Then can you access the cover page text?
