Covert to Full Version

I am currently using the trial version and want to activate it to the full
version as I've just bought a product key. When I select "convert" under the
activation menu my system does not do anything. I have the hour glass for a
few seconds and that's it. Any suggestions?

Where is the CD of the version that you have the product key for. You cannot convert
a Trial version. You need to uninstall it along with the Activation Assistant and
then install the version that you have the legal key for

Mel, where did you purchase the product key. It should be a 25 character
key in the same version as the trial that was installed onto the computer by
the manufacturer or which you downloaded from Microsoft's web site. If the
license key sticker says MLK on the lower right of it you have purchased a
Medialess License key and that requires a specific install by the computer
manufacturer and must be activated within 90 (IIRC) days of computer
purchase. If it is a downloaded or manufacturer installed version (Small
Business, Home and Student, Professional, etc.) of Office and it is not the
same version as the key it can not be activated with that key.

Let us know what the license key information says and the type of
installation you currently have. If you do have a disk with the purchased
key you need to uninstall any trial and it's activation assistant, reboot
the computer and then install from the CD
