CPU usage 100% when opening Outlook

When opening Outlook the CPU usage goes to 100% and opening cannot be
completed, Ihave to use Task Manager to end the task and open in safe mode.

I am using XP v.5.1 with SP 3 and Outlook 2002 SP3

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Thanks Roady, my difficulty arose before I installed SP3 as I thought it
might be the answer - I downloaded it from Microsoft site, is it unsafe?

There is no SP3 for Windows XP; rightclick My Computer-> Properties and it
will tell you Service Pack 2 ;-)

See the link provided for troubleshooting the opening of Outlook.
