Crack in disk

I recently experienced a problem with my computer where I
had to reload all my programs. When I tried to install MS
Office 2000 Professional, it would not install. After
uninstalling and re-installing the program, it still would
not install. I looked closely at Disk # 1 and found there
was a small crack towards the inside of the disk,
presumably the reason for it not working. I have no idea
how this happened since I store my programs in a secure
place. If I were to return the original disk # 1, could I
receive a replacement, and if so, how do I go about it.

Assuming you have a legal copy and Product Key all you need to do is find a
friend or associate with Office 2K Pro and burn a copy of his disk. There is
no information on the CD which is specific to a particular Product Key. If you
know someone with the same Office version it's easier and faster than getting
one thru MS and perfectly legal.
