crash boom bang.. ugh!

After a bunch of repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling, then more
troubleshooting, I finally landed on a help page for normal.dot. That's
where my problem lies. I can delete it and WORD will start fine. But when I
build my own custom toolbar, then try to reopen it, it will crash. It's not
like I'm programming my on toolbar. Just dragging and dropping onto a new
bar. Nothing elaborate or abnormal. What causes that?

Also, is it possible to export a toolbar so I can reimport it later?

thanks!

Rather strange. First try a test. After creating a fresh normal.dot (BTW, it
is best to just rename the normal.dot as normal.old or normal.bad so that
you can still use the Organizer to copy across any wanted customisations),
create a new Toolbar, save it and close Word. Does it open now with just an
empty custom toolbar?
