Crash of Microsoft Word

Hi,

I have the latest version of Microsoft Word for the Mac (11.2 060202).
Mac OS X 10.4.6, German.

Microsoft Word often crashes with problems with the hyphenation
functionality. This problem seems to be well known. Is there a fix from
Microsoft? When will there be one? This problem is really annoying.

yes, the problem appeared with the 11.2.3 update, and yes, there is a fix. I
replied to a German poster about a week ago, so I hope you don't mind me
simply copy-pasting my reply:

das Problem ist bekannt, und es wurde auch bereits letzte Woche in einem
Thread mit dem Titel "Word 11.2.3 + OS X 10.4.6 + German hyphenation crash"
diskutiert. Wie ein anderer Benutzer vorgeschlagen hat, musst du einfach nur
die deutschen Silbentrennungswörterbücher von deiner Office-CD ins folgende
Verzeichnis kopieren (Programme/Microsoft Office 2004/Gemeinsame
Anwendungen/Korrekturhilfen) und somit die neueren Wörterbücher
überschreiben. Die alten Wörterbücher funktionieren problemlos mit dem
11.2.3 Update, und Word dürfte dann auch nicht mehr abstürzen.
