Crash recovery quirks

My system "crashed" as a result of the Netsky.Q I-Worm on 8/3. My system has
since been cleaned and mostly restored by a professional. So far, the only
problems I've seen are in Outlook. They are as follows:
1) I've lost my Signatures
2) I no longer have any Groups in my Contacts List as well as all of my
addresses. Yet, when I click to "Save Sender in Add Bk," I get the message:
"this contact is already in your Add Bk." Even though I've already done
searches for wab, pst, and another one (I can't recall) as instructed by the
MS site.
3) My Internet mail passwords won't keep, though "Remember password" box
REMAINS checked.
4) The MS Office Shortcut Bar keeps re-setting itself (moving icons).

There may be other errors I don't even know about yet. Do you have any
suggestions? I've already ran the "Repair" options for both MS Office Small
Busn disks, and the problems are still there. I'm also afraid to uninstall
and reinstall for fear I would lose much more than I have (NO, I didn't back
it up...like a moron :).

Obviously, because of the virus, I'm EXTREMELY hesitant to attempt any kind
of System Restore because I have no clue WHEN I got it; my system's not been
"quite right" for a long while...but since it still worked, I just put up w/
the "minor" frustrations before the crash.

Thanks for your time,
Shannon

The uninstall and reinstall is generally safe. Just backup your PST file
first. I'd consider a fresh install and then copy your old data into a new
PST.
Look into updating your system and using an up-to-date virus scanner in the
future.
