CRASH - when installing MSO 2007 Professional

Sorry to hit the group with such a basic question, but I'm stuck.

When I try to INSERT MSO2007 Pro into the drive, I get blue screen! This is
repeatable. I have rebooted the machine to make sure no other junk was
running. Virus scan was turned off.

It seems like just accessing the DVD blows up things.

Can anyone out there advise?

System:
MS Vista Ultimate
P4 Quad core CPU 2.6GHz
2GB RAM
300GB C:
500GB D:
No RAID, all SATA
Brand new machine

JoAnn,

Thanks for the query. I actually tried a couple of things:
1) StarWars DVD - works great!
2) Two Brothers DVD - crashed.
3) Homemade DVDs - didn't even recognize

Many CDs have already worked.

Don't know what the world is going on.

I got a DMP file, but don't know how to view it or use it...

Did you try a different DVD to see if it's the drive?

Since other DVDs have problems, too, if I were in your shoes, I'd first call
the computer manufacturer.

That would tell me there's something up with the drive or the driver, not
the disk itself. I assume that your system is still covered under warranty -
call the manufacturer. Now is the time to get it fixed.
