Crash when saving docx

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I'm getting consistent and repeatable crashes whenever I try to save an existing docx document after inserting any sort of clipping from the scrapbook. Documents in .doc format save without trouble. Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
Both the OS and Word are the latest versions with the most recent service packs/patches applied.

No, I haven't seen that issue.

How are you producing the clippings you are storing in the scrapbook?

The clippings have been created by selecting a block of text or a text box and invoking "add selection" from the scrapbook window of the toolbox.

It looks like it is peculiar to my work computer as I can't reproduce it on a home machine. A report on the problem has gone to Microsoft and I'll let one of our Mac-oriented IT support people check it out.

Have you tried repairing permissions & restarting? Is the problem system
fully updated in terms of OS (10.5.4) & Office (12.1.1)?

No, I have nothing further to add: that sounds like it should work without a
problem. I wonder if the work machines are fully updated with the latest
patches?
