Crashing system!!!

Hi,

I intend to read all the messages here that might help me
but I'm getting a message that says:

"A fatal exception occurred at 0187:BFF9DFFF . . . and the
application will be terminated".

This happens every time I try to open any Excel file (I
have Excel 2000). I have tried re-installing MS Office
and even tried an upgrade for Excel but still get this
message. It does not happen on any other Office
programme??

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
