Crashing upon opening Off 2004

I have tried to install, then uninstall, then re-iinstall Office 2004.
It installs but crashes when I try to open any of the components. I
get the window asking if I want to send an error report and do I want
to try to recover the document and try opening again.
What is going on?

What is going on?

First, if you weren't using the Remove Office application (found in the
Microsoft Office 2004:Additional Tools:Remove Office folder on your
install disk), you probably weren't removing everything.

Second, reinstalling (a typical Windows troubleshooting suggestion),
rarely works on Macs - the apps just don't get corrupted that often.

Now that your installation is in an unknown state, run Remove Office,
then reinstall Office and apply SP-1, downloaded from Mactopia:

Since it's affecting all apps, I'd suspect a corrupt font would be most
likely.
