Crashing while system is sleeping

Entourage frequently locks up when my system is sleeping. Often I have to
force restart the computer, but sometimes I can force quit it after the
system wakes up. But the app doesn't quit completely. On restart the system
hangs and I have to force the system to restart. Very annoying. Anyone else
having this problem? I'm on 10.4.2, on a 1.67 ghz PB
