crating documents

Something has changed and I need to correct the problem.
When I try to create a document there appears two upright
bars and the image of the letter P. Also when I use the
space bar it prints periods. Can you help? Thanks

On your Standard toolbar there is a "Show/Hide" button to the left of the
Zoom button. Click it to turn it off. Keep in mind that these items do NOT
print and can be quite helpful when looking for extra spaces, page breaks,
hard returns, etc.
