Can anyone tell me how to make the Office XP updater obey me when I
tell it to stop it. I'm on the road at the moment, and aproximately
10,000 kms away from my cd's and wont be home for another 3-4 months.
Every time I log in, It asks me for the CD's. I tell it to cancel. It
rolls back. Then it starts again. This really is upsetting to me. I've
gone into update and told it NOT to install the update.
It doesnt care, its doing it anyway.
I expect software to be obedient. Installing an unwanted update that
refuses to accept that laptop users dont carry original cds around is
rude and bullying, and completely unfair.
I've checked the local user/local machine)/software/ms/windows/run and
runonce reg keys. nothing there. I cant actually work out how this is
triggering.
This is really upsetting, and short of uninstalling and putting in
open office which probably wont harass me, I have no answers for
this.
Can anyone help me?
