Crazy Paging Problem

I have a user that has a Word 2000 document with embedded graphics that has
a strange paging problem. The document starts at page 34 and when you go to
pages 35-44 and hit the 'Enter' key more than 3 times, Word inserts blank
pages into the document - forever. But, pages 45-73 (the end) are OK. The
only way to stop the paging problem is to remove the spaces that were just
put in.

Has anybody seen this problem before? I scanned for viruses, but it's
clean.

Thanks,

John

The embedded graphics could be a cause of the problem.

I don't necessarily have a lot of specifics on this, but from what I
can gather it has to do with the paragraph the object is anchored to.

Word is attempting to keep the paragraph on the page, and since the
object is also anchored to the paragraph it's trying to keep it on the
page, so it goes to the next page, and tries the same and fails again,
so it goes into a continuous repagination loop.

It may have to do with the Keep Lines Together Property or it could be
one paragraph is spanning multiple pages and the object is looking for
a paragraph mark to anchor to, and cannot find it,because no paragraph
either begins or ends on that page.

Thanks for the insight Beth!

I experimented with the graphics and found that inserting page breaks at the
bottom of each page that didn't have breaks fixed the problem.
