Create a Custom XML Log from InfoPath Form

Hello All,

I have a scenario - I need to create a XML log file based on the data
elements on the form. The objective is to have a local data store for
the form from which could be extracted, edited and saved all offline
and finally sycnchronized with SharePoint or SQL. So essentially my
question is two part a)How do I retrieve all the elements from the form
write it to a file in an XML format. b) How do I retrieve the values
and populate it...What would be the best approach?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be really helpful.
