create a histogram in MS word

Jay Freedman

I need to know how to create a histogram in word.

Use the command Insert > Picture > Chart. Right-click the sample chart
and choose Chart Type, then select the type that works for you
(probably an Area chart). Enter your data in the spreadsheet area.

Do the following:
1. On the File menu, point to Picture, and then click Chart.
A sample datasheet and the chart with relevance to the datasheet will be
displayed on the Word document. You will notice that the menu name Data and
Chart are added to the menu on the top. If you want to use the datasheet,
then use the data menu. Similarly, if you want to manipulate the chart, then
use the Chart menu.
Note: To change the chart type you must select the chart by clicking the
chart.
2. On the Chart menu, click Chart Type.
Select one of the Chart Type under the Standard Tab or select one of the
Chart Type under the Custom Type Tab
3. Click OK.
4. Click any where in the Word document to hide the data sheet and update
the Microsoft Word menu.
