create a list

What is the best program to create a list for printing
envelopes and labels? And where can I find directions or
samples?
Thanks from Alaska

Word will merge from a wide variety of data formats. For addresses, the
obvious choice is Outlook, which provides excellent data search and
selection tools.

Hi Ed,

There are lots of options

A table in a Word document with the first row containing the field names
An Excel spreadsheet, also with the first row of the sheet containing the
field names
A table in an Access database
The Contacts list in Outlook (Not Outlook Express)

It's hard to say what is the best program. It depends to a certain extent
on what other use you may make of the data.

Hi Ed

Go to:

/Ralph http://www.btinternet.com/~kevin.james1.htm. There
you will find some procedures to download that might help
you make a database for you lists and give you
instructions for using it with either Word or Works to
print labels and envelopes.
