Create a monthly calendar

How do you create a monthly calendar that you can input data in each day?

Start looking here. Any of the templates for Word 2003/4 or prior & many of
those for 2007/8 should be usable. Keep in mind that Word is not the only
[nor perhaps the best] program for calendars.

Have you considered the Calendar capabilities of Entourage?

Bob is correct (as usual!) Word is not a good weapon for calendars.

Microsoft does not want to offer "real" templates that make calendars,
because that would cut across "sales" of other products.

However, I made one in Excel that you can simply download.

It's in Excel 2008, so you will also need the Office 2008 Converter from the
Mactopia site if you do not already have it.

You don't. Of course, have to keep the colours and decorations: they're just
from one of the Microsoft templates. The active bit is simply the Excel
formulas, which can be copied and pasted into any design of your choosing.

here's one I have that I had with help with Bob Greenblatt (shows up
frequently in excel newsgroup.

Note its formatted to be a Desk calender. That folds out from back and
sits like a small Picture. It even accounts for leap year. All that
needs changing from year to year is in January change the year from 2009
to 2010 and change next time to 2011 and so on the days automatically
shift according to year given.

I'm quite sure the width's and Heights could be adjusted to make a full
size calendar

Rather than using separate sheets. I formatted the page for landscape.
Then I sized in such a way that it uses another page (sheet of paper)
there are two moth to a page.

If you can figure out how to break the months into separate pages, or
even separate sheets of a workbook, without breaking formulas that would
be great.

However, I couldn't get your Calendar link: Safari confuses XLSX with XML,
which means all I get is word-salad when I try to download it. Which
browser are you using?

SeaMonkey.

if you click on the link and hold you should get something to the
effect of Save Link target.

In SeaMonkey you don't even Have to ask a screen will come up with
choices of open with then you choose application or save to disk.

If I made a zip of it would it work better?

You don't try to open directly, you try to download.

I'm using Safari 4 under Mac OS X 10.5.7, and I can download the file
without any problem. When I click the link in Phillip's message, Safari
opens a new window and starts downloading the file immediately.

Hmmm... Now that I am using Safari 3 under Mac OS 10.5.7, I can also get
Phillip's original link.

Curious... The MacBook doesn't like the link, the MacPro does...

On a spreadsheet I am using to keep up with my mother's bills
temporarily I added some comments some items. Could they do that . for
what they need?

Hi Phillip:

Yeah, he could do that, but it would be easier to insert a row beneath each
row of numbers.

Then Protect the cells with the date formats in them.

That way, they are typing in blank cells.

However, if that's what they want to do, they're starting to get to the
point where it would be better to use Entourage and use a real Calendar.
